a w a r e

Looking up you might see marvelous blue skies and milk white clouds. You might hear the laughter and enjoyment of children or the soft and friendly sound of baby blue birds on a tree. A tree that roars onto you as the wind passes softly then more aggressively. You would feel the autumn leaves fall upon you touching your skin. Or falling beside you forming an outline of your body. You are aware of everything around you.

You see and hear and feel and know.
You know that the calm world around you can be there forever. Still, you know that it's not always there, that it won't always be. It can't be. Specially not for everyone. You will see different colors feel different winds and see different skies.

What Is Alcoholism?

Alcoholism is a disease that is characterized by the following:

* Craving: A strong need, or compulsion, to drink.
* Loss of control: The frequent inability to stop drinking once a person has begun.
* Physical dependence: The occurrence of withdrawal symptoms, such as nausea, sweating, shakiness, and anxiety, when alcohol use is stopped after a period of heavy drinking. These symptoms are usually relieved by drinking alcohol or by taking another sedative drug.
* Tolerance: The need for increasing amounts of alcohol in order to get “high.”

Encounter part II

What happened? She was trying to help this man.
He wanted a cup of coffee, needed a dollar, then wanted a beer.
Then he asked for her
"come to my home... i will show you my home... it's just over there"
The girl didn't go.
She simply crossed the street completely confused. She looked over for a moment and saw him in the same position as she had first seen him.

As she walked she thought of the man. She thought of his oblivion, of his desperation, of his need. She could not help but to feel an immense throb in her. She struggled to hold back tear dots.
This would become an encounter embedded in her eyes and mind.
